A spectacular holiday treat is coming our way: the 100 voices of the Kona Choral Society under the baton of Artistic Director Susan McCreary Duprey will perform their highly-anticipated “Messiah” by George Fredric Handel.  The place is the Sheraton Ballroom; the date is Sunday, November 29th, 4pm; and the doors open at 3:30 pm.

But wait: there’s more!  For the first time in Kona in this arrangement, Benjamin Britten’s “A Ceremony of Carols” will be sung to the accompaniment of local harp virtuoso, Tatyana Shapiro.  Composed in 1943 and requiring a masterfully talented harpist, the beloved “A Ceremony of Carols” sets to music poems from 1300 to 1600.  The Chorus’s voices weave mystery and magic of this season.

A joyous pre-concert gift to all begins at 3:15 pm when the two Youth Choruses of the Kona Choral Society will bring joyous music to the Sheraton Ballroom Courtyard.

Tickets are $20 adults and $5 for students. Doors open at 3:30.
